Have you considered how having a vision or dream helps you attain goals in life? It tends to motivate us to complete tasks on the journey even if it takes a lifetime to achieve. This is particularly so if the vision resonates with our internal values and the core of our being. It might be that for striving we realise derivative outcomes, or something less than our initial outcome visioned. That's OK since it still has meaning for us.
In a similar fashion, what we think about ourselves tends to influence outcomes and our destiny. If we have self-limiting beliefs in terms of our confidence and outlook to life, they can act to constrain us and limit the range of options we have to select from in terms of self-directed behaviour.
Examples of "self-limiting beliefs" could be the fear of making a mistake or being anxious to try something new or unfamiliar.
Some of these fears and anxiety are learnt in our early years as children in family of origin. Other times, we have been traumatised from exposure to domestic violence, bullying at school or in the workplace. We can also have been harmed or mistreated by partners and those with whom we had a trust relationship. In short, there are many ways that may impact us turning inward rather than outward and embracing all of life's opportunities.
What we carry around as thoughts and fears ultimately influences our opportunities in life and who we become.
At Praxim we appreciate the diversity of presentation and work with individuals to overcome limiting beliefs that hold them back from experiencing the richness of life and engaging with life fully.
If we can help you to break cycles of thinking and behaviour that limit you from being who you want to be, then we would be glad to assist.
